Labyrinth Community Garden – SeedMoney Grant fundraiser campaign from November 15 – December 15, 11:00 AM local time. Donations of $600 or more may result in a $400 grant from SeedMoney. Donations online may be made on Labyrinth Community Garden Facebook or at https://donate.seedmoney.org/explore. On Saturday, December 1 at 9:30 AM, the St. John’s Daughters of the King will gather for our regular December activity - packing and wrapping shoe boxes of personal products for patients leaving the Austin State Hospital. These patients will not necessarily become homeless, but they won’t go home where all their immediate needs are provided, so these boxes provide some personal products to start with. The boxes are gift wrapped because they are gifts.
We would be glad to have any items you have accumulated - travel-size containers of soap, shampoo, deodorant, sunscreen, and body lotion, combs, razors, Band-Aids, etc. We also need more shoe boxes - large size - in order to pack about 20 boxes each for men and women. Donations can be dropped off in the parish hall, labeled DOK, or handed to any member. And if you happen to be around on our box-wrapping Saturday morning, stop in and admire the stacks of boxes. |
