ONE IN WORSHIP: Next
Sunday, October 19, there will be one communion service at 11:00 a.m. Following
the service there will be a pot luck lunch. Bring your favorite dish to share.
This is a day of celebration for all who attend St. John’s.
STEWARDSHIP CELEBRATION
DINNER: Friday, October 24, 7 p.m. Join us at our special dinner to honor
our parishioner’s contributions to parish ministry. Enjoy grilled burgers,
mariachi music and learn where the church ministries are headed in the near
future.
FALL EVENTS -HALLOWEEN
CONCERT & HARVEST FAIR
1. A final
meeting of Fall Fundraising Group will be held at 12:45 PM, Sunday, Oct.
26. The purpose of meeting is to bring all participants current on
activities, and to answer questions.
2. Baked
Goods: If you haven't done so, please sign-up (in narthex) to donate
baked goods to Harvest Fair. Health Dept Rule on Baked Goods:
Items that do not need refrigeration are acceptable, such as — cakes,
cupcakes, brownies, breads, cookies, etc. If icing is used, icing must
be purchased at grocery store. No homemade icing allowed.
3.
Artisan/Antiques/Collectibles donations: If possible, please bring all
donations on Sunday, Nov. 2, and place under table in Parish Hall. (No
garage sale items please.) Otherwise, have all donations to Parish Hall
by Friday Nov. 7.
4. Tell
your family, friends, and acquaintances about these Fall Events.
ADULT CHRISTIAN DIALOGUE:
9:15 a.m. on Sundays. New series focuses on the current debate of Intelligent
Design, Creationism and Evolution.
MEN’S CLOTHING NEEDED:
St. John’s Community Center Clothes Closet is in need of T-shirts and pants for
men. They only need men’s clothing. Please see Bill Beare if you have men’s
clothing to donate. Also remember to bring non-perishable food items to church
so we can restock the Food Pantry
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS: Sign
up to be a Sunday coffee host and bring juice and treats to your fellow
parishioners. Make it even easier by signing up with a buddy and split the set
up and clean up duties! (The “cleanup duties” are listed on a sheet in the
Kitchen.) Check the clipboard by the coffee machine in the parish hall.
